If you use the official binary build of john-1.7.9-jumbo-5 (john179j5w.zip), then it brings its own copies of relevant Cygwin DLLs. > # ./john --ext=Keyboard --format=nt2 -session=win01 hash-10-2011.txt > Segmentation fault (core dumped) I've just tried almost the same command on a Linux build of john-1.7.9-jumbo-5 - it works just fine. Indeed, it's a different build, the system is different, and I don't have your specific hash-10-2011.txt, so I used another file with NTLM hashes. > Loaded 2 password hashes with no different salts (NT v2 [SSE2 4x]) Looks like not the official build. I think the official one would print SSE2i here (due to the -sse2i make target I used). Can you try the official build and report back, please? Of course, it'd be desirable to figure out the cause of the segfault on your build anyway... Thank you for reporting this! Alexander
