Back to the original question, not that I know of.  I briefly
considered doing just that (building a CGI around john-mpi), and
although it would have been trivial to do so, it just wasn't worth my
time - even in that huge environment we didn't do enough password
auditing to dedicate the resources.

You can wrap almost any app in a Perl or PHP CGI, the question is
whether it's worth your time and effort to do so properly and
securely.
