Although it is regrettable that you seem to have purchased a random
product without prior validation that it actually provided the
functionality you sought, there isn't much we (or JtR) can do for you.

The only way you could use JtR to do this is if you somehow stored a
copy of the password hash somewhere - given existing evidence, highly
unlikely.

John the Ripper is a tool designed to rapidly and intelligently test
probable passwords against known, non-reversible password hashes, not
recover passwords from arbitrary applications.
