Makes sense.  I'd reserve the name --interactive for greater interaction
directly with the user, though.  Besides, it clashes with --incremental
for abbreviations.  jumbo has other options starting with i anyway, but
core does not yet, and I have no intent to be adding an option starting
with i yet.

Maybe --no-tty is a better name.

What to do with existing builds of John, though?
