Well, it suggests a problem external to popa3d.  But while looking
into my error reporting code, I see a possible code path which would
lead to this error message also on a mailbox read problem (may be
caused by an improper locking setup), I'll deal with that.  So, while
it is very likely the problem really is external to popa3d, I can't be
100% sure of that based on this log message and it's worth
investigating some more.

Please first try 0.5.9 and let us know if it helped.  Be sure to save
the particular mailbox that is known to trigger the problem currently,
we may need it later on.
