if you like nmap :) try to:
at your mail&sshd server console:  
# nmap -sv -O [your_public_mail_and_sshd_server_IP_here]

at some remote host console:  
# nmap -sV -O [your_public_mail_and_sshd__server_IP_here]

what is exact output (especially from remote host) ?

and make sure that everything is ok with routing to your mail&sshd server 
public IP and with the IP itself :)
