I have updated the BIOS, the Smart start for Compaq, and followed everything Compaq said to install linux, and tried other OS's also trying to get one that will accept Owl. Now I am getting an error on boot up (nothing installed except compaqs controller software) the error "<0>Kernal Panic: Attempted to kill the idle task!" "In idle task - not syncing" then it just sets there. other times I got it to boot from the CD then it won't do anything from there no fdisk etc. I can start "settle" Randy Greif -----Original Message----- From: Solar Designer [mailto:solar@...nwall.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 14, 2006 9:06 AM To: owl-users@...ts.openwall.com Subject: Re: [owl-users] Owl and Intel 64 bit Xeon On Tue, Feb 14, 2006 at 08:54:51PM +0700, Ihsan wrote: > I plan to upgrade one of my server to Intel 64 bit Xeon platform. > Can Owl Linux run on Intel 64 bit Xeon processor?
