That's quite unfortunate, but we wouldn't needlessly stick to an older gcc in Owl-current when we had the human resources to do this upgrade. Please apply your C/C++ skills to fix any broken software to build with the newer gcc and please submit your patches upstream. ;-) If you can't do that, then please submit detailed bug reports upstream (although your sharing this with owl-users is appreciated, too).
