Afaict, the difference between -fpie a -fPIE is analogous to the 
difference between -fpic and -fPIC: Some architectures allow the use 
of alternative (presumably more efficient) code when the size of 
GOT is small. I do not think there is any difference on i386 and x86_64 
but I may be mistaken.
