Notes:
    Changes since v2:
    
    - Fixed GLOB_TILDE value and added GLOB_TILDE_CHECK.
    - Removed use of issetugid.
    - Switched to __strchrnul.
    - Mimick error handling in other implementations.
    - Fixed expansion of the path delimiter.
