I tested it on a system running Sierra and here are the results:
./john --format=raw-MD5-opencl --test
Device 1: Intel(R) Iris(TM) Graphics 6100
Benchmarking: Raw-MD5-opencl [MD5 OpenCL]... DONE
Raw: 16611K c/s real, 52428K c/s virtual
OpenCL is still under development, so this may be the reason for the error.
