Which Makefile in " john-1.8.0-jumbo-1/source"

There is 3 makefile files !

Makefile.dep
Makefile.in
Makefile.legacy
Makefile.stub


Please, be more specific

NOTE: I can compile, john-1.8.0 but not john-1.8.0-jumbo-1
