As it happens I did just that, like three days ago ;-)

This goes for mscash-opencl too. The support does include GPU-side mask, 
actually without much of a performance penalty (we're doing 15G p/s 
*with* non-ASCII on Titan X). So your "--mask=?1?1?1?1?1?1?1 -1=?L?U?D" 
example works just fine as long as you add "--internal-encoding=<something>"
