Adrian,

Can you please ensure you always post to the same thread? Use your mail
client's "reply" feature on a message in this thread. Never post to the
list anew (unless you're in fact bringing a totally new topic up).

BTW, why are you doing this? Why don't you simply reset this password?

OK, this helps a lot. You did mention f%w in your first posting (last
year), but you never explained what you meant by that.

Of course.  That's a 1.8+ thing.

Sure.  ascii.chr is also a 1.8+ thing.

OK, but you'll really need to encode the extra info that you have.

Meanwhile, testing the combination I had posted on two GPUs:

$ ./john -inc=adrian -ext=adrian -form=sha512crypt-opencl -se=gpu-adrian pw-adrian -fork=2 -dev=0,1
Loaded 1 password hash (sha512crypt-opencl, crypt(3) $6$ [SHA512 OpenCL])
Node numbers 1-2 of 2 (fork)
Device 0: GeForce GTX 570
Device 1: Tahiti (AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series)
Local worksize (LWS) 64, global worksize (GWS) 32768

As you can see, it's over 16k c/s.
