I use cygwin as well as mingw compilers + a cygwin environment to
compile john the ripper on windows. Though i don't recall the exact
build dependencies, gcc and make are definitely needed. For the jumbo
patch openssl and openssl-dev are additionally needed (as well as the
patch utility to apply said patch).
