All eSDK releases have a unique name (current is esdk.5.13.07.10). If you
untar the archive at /opt/adapteva, then it will extract to that directory,
not overlapping the old install. The only thing needs to be done is to
relink the esdk symlink there, and you should be OK.
cd /opt/adapteva
sudo tar xf esdk.5.13.07.10*.tgz
sudo ln -sTf esdk.5.13.07.10 /opt/adapteva/esdk
