FWIW, the -fo abbreviation no longer works in 1.8 and bleeding-jumbo,
because it is ambiguous with --fork.  You need to use at least -form as
the shortest working abbreviation for --format now.

BTW, I think this topic should have been brought up on john-users and
not john-dev.  Let's use john-dev for discussions around JtR source
code, with proposed source code changes and such.  End-user discussions
belong to john-users, even if they're about usage of the unreleased code
revisions from git.
