Late question: I just realized we are not including Jim's to_dyna (that converts dynamic salts to $HEX$ notation if needed). AFAIK we do support its output format properly in this branch (I'm not sure though, I haven't used it) so I suppose it should be added, especially since it's been discussed on john-users. It's in commit 8378682 of magnum-jumbo.
