Somehow your speeds for 1 and 1000 hashes are almost 4 times lower than
what we're seeing on 7970, although your GPU should be only about 30%
slower.  Perhaps it's because of this:

Your speeds for 1M hashes are closer to 7970's.  They're dominated by
global memory latency.
