Subject: md5_gen(17)

Jim -

Since md5_gen(17) is documented to correspond to phpass "portable
hashes", maybe JtR should actually accept this syntax:

md5_gen(17)$P$9pmUWqlKpXo/R2aiwyJnt6P/nNbv.A0
md5_gen(17)$H$9pmUWqlKpXo/R2aiwyJnt6P/nNbv.A0

in addition to plain:

$P$9pmUWqlKpXo/R2aiwyJnt6P/nNbv.A0
$H$9pmUWqlKpXo/R2aiwyJnt6P/nNbv.A0

translating the former into the latter in split()?

Then W.A. wouldn't run into the problem that he did run into. I am
referring to W.A.'s john-users posting, and this is where the specific
hash came from:

Thanks,
