Subject: Please, git repositories

I know patches are the preferred mean of modification distribution for
JtR, but wouldn't it be nice to use git repositories ?

For people maintaining a slightly different version of the official
source tree (for example with intrinsics), it is really, *really*,
convenient to be able to merge upstream patches with a simple command.

For project managers (that means Solar), it might be a nice way to merge
other peoples patch sets.

For people who want to test the new cool thing (such as the new patches
submitted during O's SoS on a daily basis), it saves a lot of time to be
able to sync with a specific branch.
