That makes the commands available to others who may not need or should
not need access to jtr binaries (and the pot files?) otherwise. I see
no other "real" reason. I think a tool like JtR on a system made for
auditing, sure "make install" it, but I would never do it on a
resource host that is shared. The POT files need to be protected from
those who should not have access to them in most cases.
