Well, yes. Except the parenthesis for what I supposed to be R6 hashes. I tried
with parenthesis, still "no password hashes load".

I was sure you'll point that (+ the fact that I usually run JtR as root) ! :-)
I use JtR on a virtual machine dedicated to that task. But thanks, I now better
understand how JtR uses & creates its files.
